I like those shadow boxes I think it is important to show your pieces in a nice, professional way otherwise your pieces wont represent their value.

Couple busy days next week

I don't know if I'll able to accomplish all what I need for this week. I'm going to be off air Wednesday and Thursday working outdoors painting, sanding, staining and gluing. I have couple appointments those days so I think that is the best way to distribute my time.

TODAY'S PAINTED TILES

From the little samples to a bigger piece I had a good day painting. It was quite on my video, that is ok, was is not OK are weird questions, that was the only bitter incident today from a guy in Japan, I'm over; next week will be a better week with more paintings and mounting.

How do you like my new logo?

Well... I'm not a graphic designer so I came up with this idea of making my logo on clay then fixing it with a simple software. Now I can find a REAL professional to help me out with my web, prints etc...

Off air today

I need to get some chores done, my papers are pilling up too much I can't breathe ... I'll be in my messenger and Facebook though.
I'll working in a recorded video for people visiting me after hours.

I finished this mural and Rodolfo's too but I didn't take a last picture of it because I want him doing it ;)

This is going to be a painting week, here is when I make the difference between other ceramists glazing their work, I think the clay work will loose detail and texture if I glaze it. I'll do some other techniques and of course will glaze some of them too.

Full week?

I might have the whole week without appointments, I can't believe it! Alright I'll using my new table and working on installations and paintings so my ceramics are going to turn alive, let's start the magic.
Rodolfo's piece is going to me the first, I already found a piece of oak as base.

Well I missed couple of people today but I know you didn't want to interrupt me :) it's ok, I know you were the watching.
I made few things today, I don't think I will have a full load but at least 70% of the kiln no too bad for good internal air flow.
Are they going to dry out? I'll make sure...

Last Day before the firing

I hope to finish a project today, I need to fill up the kiln and I haven't done anything big enough; a challenge will be the drying but I think I can force it with a torch fun fun fun...

Only this today

I couldn't do much but I'm happy with this little pieces I made, I might send them as wedding favors not a bad idea and I can even personalize each one of them.

What can I do in a couple of hours

I'm late to my live video today, I''m trying to figure out how to load pictures in my blog quicker but I haven't find a painless way, meanwhile I need to think about what to do before noon then going to other appointment, sorry guys no much action today...

Firing this weekend

I need to finish production for a full kiln load, I'm way behind!!! I hope today will be a full day of work and the weather will help me to dry out my girls.
Don't worry you can interrupt me, it is my energy boost.

How I deal with lack of inspiration

Well isn't easy and today is one of those. I think I dragged my energy too much this weekend but I have a responsibility with myself to create art every day so today I turned on my business mode and started with something easy and quick (kind of) and this is what I made.
I can't be online this afternoon but If I come back soon enough I'll finish this piece, even if I don't want to.
I apology for my bad mood, I just don't like going to appointments when I want to play with clay, it affect my creativity...

This week Schedule

Due to my happiness I won't work on Monday, I'm planning to show off my ring to my friends, It will take me all day. I can't wait to share everything with my fellow co-workers.
I'll back to business on Tuesday half day, full day the rest of the week.

I couldn't be happier

Today is Father's Day? not only, today is the best day ever. What a surprise my boyfriend Keith asked me to be his wife today, oh my God, my little body can't hold so much, I'm flying around, jumping, crying, celebrating. The day I least expected he asked me to marry him. Oh Keith why you are so special? How can I say no?.
I couldn't resist to take couple shots of my engagement ring, isn't beautiful?

She is drying out

The cuts are made and she is ready to dry completely, This is my new favorite work, I can't wait to finish her.
Today I tried to work outside on my picnic table but I couldn't fix the webcam settings to bright natural light so I had to put everything back but my hat LOL. Maybe another day you can share a sun tan with me.

Almost done

She's almost done, I'm waiting fort the leather hard stage to carve some details and clean her up. I'm satisfied with my version, let me show you the picture reference I used.

Firing day

Today I'll have a full kiln load, it will take 8 hours for them to dry and "cook". As soon as I finish with this Goddess I"ll show you guys the other process.
She is showing a little more of life... But i won't post pictures today, sorry.

This week is going to be slow...

Oh my... so many things going on this week for me, from dealing with my car insurance due to an accident ( I'm fine) , my citizenship ceremony and my daughter's graduation.
I won't be able to work today, Wednesday and only have day on Thursday. I might come back soon today but not sure about it.

The little Church and the begining of a new one

How I said this is the "after" posting, I finished the church before noon and I was ready to start something else, guess what... I didn't know what to do!, I told that to Giovanni in my chat and in a few minutes he sent me a link of this gorgeous relief of Coyolxauhqui Goddess and I instantly fell in love with it, of course I'll do MY version of her, so far so good...

Video Schedule and How it works

Hello everybody!, thank you again for your support, I love having you while I work.
Every Sunday I'll publish the weekly schedule for that week, you don't have to do anything, just browse my blog and look the box on the upper right side of the blog, when the screen is blue wait a moment until the signal loads completely, if it is black I'm off line and please read the posting to see the schedule.
Be aware of turning on or off your speakers, you can type your questions and I'll answer in English and Spanish for my Latin viewers but due to my type of work I won't be typing as much, talking is no a problem and laughs are guarantied :)

Early Morning posting

I decided to post twice at day, one before starting my live video and other on the end of the day so you can see my work before and after. How cool is that?
I started this yesterday and it's my little project for today. I'm going to be online after 11:00 AM Eastern Time. Right now I'm doing some paper work it needs to me done, so boring....

My first day with live video

Today I decide to give it a shot and it was easier than I thought, all this video and chatting wasn't that difficult or distracting. I had 13 viewers and almost all of them interacted with me all the time, so far I'm doing my speech in Spanish but as soon as I have more English speakers I'll certainly answers their questions in English.

Don be shy, I'll here tomorrow for few hours and soon I'll publish more information about this feature.

He is not only a great photographer but a helping hand at the time you least expected. He helped me to ad the live video feature in my blog after I asked in the forum how he does it.

I want to show everybody how I work with ceramics, I love sharing my inspiration, techniques and being a good entertainment for somebody who is working all day in the computer.

All the art work created is for sale, I think anybody will enjoy to see how a piece of art is created; educating the customer helps to value art even more and it is nice to see works in progress, just before being ready.

Back to ceramics

From now on I'm full time artist, I say it with a little concern but the same bug in my stomach is telling me to keep going. I have been enjoying all this days and so far everything have been so good. All my friends from Forodefotografos.com have been with me on the webcam.

Those are the pieces I have done so far, all inspired in the moment while I'm chatting with them.

I had fox puppies in my back yard

I couldn't believe it, this morning Keith told me to see out the window and there were three fox puppies playing by the shed. There were so calm so cute! I'm realizing how lucky I'm being so close to big cities as New York and Boston and still having this type of view right in my house.
